Richard Crasta

Richard Crasta is the father of 3 boys, 9 books, and 1 kicking and screaming Inner Child that refuses to grow up or to go to sleep. He was born in Bangalore, India, grew up Catholic and repressed in the sleepy town of Mangalore, and received a jolt from the onset of that universal male condition known as puberty.
It was a jolt that he never quite recovered from, and he vowed to turn his post-pubertal pain into literary gold by becoming a writer in America.
While he was working at a literary agency in New York and studying at Columbia University, his wrote the first pages of his novel. Provocatively titled "The Revised Kama Sutra: A Novel of Colonialism and Desire," it was published by Viking Penguin India to considerable acclaim and some controversy. (The novel was then published in the U.K. and 8 other countries, and translated into six languages.)
Crasta continued writing other books while being a part-time stay-at-home father in the suburbs of New York, but has recently been living in Asia while maintaining his connections with New York City.
The books that followed included "Impressing the Whites" and "The Killing of an Author," Books 2 and 3 of his Freedom Trilogy ("The Revised Kama Sutra" being the first).
Among his most emotionally satisfying projects was editing and publishing "Eaten by the Japanese: The Memoir of an Unknown Indian Prisoner of War," his father's World War II memoir, just 2 years before his father's death. The book, now also available in e-book form, continues to win readers 12 years after his father's death.
Freedom, skepticism, humanism, and the human comedy are a few of his major themes as a writer. He is an uncompromising campaigner for equal freedom of expression, and the equal freedom to be who you want to be without the government or any Big Brother Society telling you what you can do or think.
Richard Crasta is currently working on seven books including four novels. Many of his books, including a book of humor and satire, are now available on Amazon Kindle and other e-book platforms.
